BIO

JODI COLLINS IS a casting director, creative producer, talent manager and creative consultant with over twenty years of experience in the entertainment industry.  Jodi’s boutique company JLC Entertainment Group, develops talent; hyphenates: actor l writer l creators developing their content for all areas of media. Jodi traditionally sees ideas for talent & media that crosses platforms, and often times uses assorted technology for trend-setting storytelling. This trusted sensibility also cross-pollinates and marries untypical talent with projects that enrich story with imaginative choices.
 
Jodi unearths NEW talent who provides fresh and interesting perspectives discovered in the worlds of alternative talent, musicians, and writers. Network executives and their development departments continue to call upon Jodi to consult for them, scouting new under-the-radar comedy talent. Jodi has been a Comedy Central #1 “go to” casting director at its beginnings and a favorite of WME Entertainment, CAA, & ICM (pre-merger) called upon to unearth & refer under the radar quality talent.
 
Jodi Collins’ casting business is well known for casting a wide and diverse range of digital, television, film, and theatrical projects with an emphasis on comedy and dramedy.  She is hired to achieve smart visual & tonal work for critically acclaimed mainstream consumption.
 
As a producer, manager and content collaborator Jodi brings an outside the box perspective to network and studio assignments. Her work attracts mainstream projects that speak to her “downtown” cutting-edge aesthetic while matching a fit with commercial viability.  Sought after is Jodi’s strong ability to interpret this, her taste level and her particular “flavor.” Along with that comes her instinctive eye for finding story and colorful character at the outset.

Jodi has cast television projects and consulted for NBCU, CBS, ABC, SONY, FOX Broadcast, HBO, Comedy Central, Lifetime, Discovery, FX, E!, LOGO, IFC, ADULT SWIM, DISNEY (among others).
 
Jodi’s work has appeared in New York’s most prestigious theatre companies; Drama Department, Naked Angels, Ensemble Studio Theatre and Rattlestick Theatre. 
 
Jodi’s work in film include early collaborations with Owen Burke of Will Ferrell’s Gary Sanchez Productions, producers Paul Young & Peter Principato l Principato Young, and up-and-comers like AD Miles and Derrick Comedy.
 

JODI COLLINS FUN FACTS:

Executive producer of the screenplay reading series CREATIVE CONTROL serving both artists and industry by presenting readings of fresh scripts cast with a who’s who of New York comedy performers and writers. Several projects nurtured by CREATIVE CONTROL have gone into development and production. It launched and facilitated financing on these indie projects.
 
Early casting career was mentored by Marcia Shulman (former EVP of Casting, Fox) where Jodi worked her way up to casting director then moved into casting comedy commercials at the biggest commercial casting agency in NYC. 
Jodi cast the infamous Budweiser commercial campaign “Whasssssup!” for Budweiser.
 
Early, early career began as a tv & musical theatre actress.
 
Early, early, early career was an executive director in fashion and even BEFORE that, was an account exec. In advertising, branding & marketing.
